About the Department
The land on which Kabikankan Mukundaram Mahavidyalaya stands is steeped in historical and cultural significance. It is the birthplace of Raja Rammohun Roy, the Renaissance Man of India, and has strong ties to iconic Bengali reformers and literateurs such as Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, Sri Ramkrishna, and Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay. The Department of History takes immense pride in upholding and celebrating this profound historical legacy.
Established in 2007, the department is committed to fostering a comprehensive understanding of the past while encouraging critical inquiry into its relevance in shaping the present.
