The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of a college is a mechanism to ensure continuous improvement in the performance of the institution. It's a part of the institution's system and works towards realizing the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. The IQAC channelizes the efforts and measures of an institution towards academic excellence.
Functions of IQAC:
- Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution.
- Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and holistic development.
- Collection and analysis of feedback from stakeholders for continuous quality improvement.
- Dissemination of information on various quality parameters to all stakeholders.
- Organization of workshops, seminars on quality-related themes and promotion of quality circles.
- Documentation of the various programs/activities leading to quality improvement.
- Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC, the accrediting body in India.
The IQAC is instrumental in ensuring a heightened level of clarity and focus in institutional functioning towards quality enhancement and facilitates internalization of the quality culture.
